8.8 USED AND SECONDHAND PHOTOGRAPHY LENSES
When
I taught photography, I recommended that students buy a new camera body and used camera
lenses. The reason is simple. A camera body has a lot of moving part and is very
complicated. A lens is relatively simple device and the optical surfaces are easy to check
for dirt, fungus, or scratches. The lens diaphragm or aperture can usually be operated
manually and checked visually.
