11.2 MORE REFUND AND RETURNING TIPS==When you buy something, do not let the sales person put the receipt in the bag. Make him or her give it to you. You should file all receipts in one place in your wallet or purse. I fold my receipts and put them in my wallet. Keeping and finding your receipts is critical. ==Do not fill out warranty cards until the time to return the item to the store is over. Once you fill out a warranty card, you will deal with the manufacturer who can repair your product but not refund your money. ==Even though the time for returning an item is long gone, try anyway. My wife returned a canopy after many months and was given a full refund. ==Even if you've lost your receipt, don't give up. A store may still allow you to return it. You have nothing to lose. ==Make sure that the sales tax is refunded as well. Stores often seem to "forget" to refund this tax that you paid. |
