8.12 BUY USED AND SECONDHAND FURNITURE
People
often replace furniture that is in very good condition. They may sell their old couch for
a song. Expect to buy used at about 60%-80% off. A lot of excellent suff gets discarded.
My wife found a matching set of three solid oak chairs next to a trash can. They now grace
our dining room table. Look for discarded furniture in resort areas during the spring.

sales are excellent places to find furniture. Look in the classifieds for itemized
furniture listings both in yard sale advertisements and also as individual sales. In the
spring and fall are the best time to find a number of ads.
