3.0 PRE-CHRISTMAS AND POST CHRISTMAS SALES FROM NOVEMBER THROUGH JANUARY; CUT AND
REDUCE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EXPENSES.
Nov.,
Dec. & Jan. are a good time to go to thrift stores. Many people give away clothes and
other items for a tax deduction before the first of the year. You will often find the best
selection this time of year. Also take a tax deduction yourself by donating old clothes
and cleaning out your closet.

November
Look
for Christmas sales right after Thanksgiving at many thrift stores. These are often the
best sales of the year.
Order
Christmas gifts for out-of-town friends/relatives from a catalogue where they can return
or exchange the gift easily. Take advantage of early fall sales.

December
Candles
& night-light bulbs are less expensive at Christmas. Believe it or not some things
cost less at Christmas. Candles and 7 1/2 watt night-light bulbs are much cheaper during
the Christmas season. The reason for this is simple: supply and demand. Stores are well
stocked with Christmas bulbs and candles during the holidays, but afterwards they become
specialty items. So in December my wife and I stock up on candles for hurricanes that
might hit us in the summer. Candles and bulbs don't go bad so you might as well buy a
bunch.

January
Take
advantage of after Christmas sales - save 50%-90% on cards, decorations, candies. Store
them in a box with a small freshener and they will look brand new next year. Stock up on
linens, sheets and towels during white sales. Winter clothing, cookware, housewares, rugs,
and toys often go on sale.
