1.4 MAKE THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS A TIME FOR THE FAMILY TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND
SHOP; CUT AND REDUCE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EXPENSES.
There
are really twelve days of Christmas, at least in the olden days. You don't have to do everything on Christmas day. We recommend that some money is given to be spent the day after Christmas when seasonal items like bathrobes and slippers often cost 50% less than they did on December 24.
1.4.1 BEFORE AND AFTER CHRISTMAS - DRAMATIC PRICE DIFFERENCES
There can be a dramatic price difference before and after Christmas for the same item. Kathy Gillikin found these prices at a local chain department store in January.

1.4.2 YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST IN SAVVY-DISCOUNTS.com :
The
day after Christmas has become one of the busiest shopping days of the year. According to
news reports in January 1998, parents are giving their children money to spend the day
after Christmas, so that they can take advantage of the sales.
In
Vol. 1 #5 (Nov. 1995) of SAVVY-DISCOUNTS.com we reported:
The
day after Christmas there may be dozens of half-price sales. In addition to affordable
presents under the tree, you might want to plan a shopping trip with your family so all of
you can take advantage of these sales with cash you've set aside.
