Several years ago we did a cost comparison of school products at various stores such as pharmacies, supermarkets, large discount retailers and office supply stores. In our survey office supply stores cost much less for just about everything.

Notebooks, pens, pencils, paper, folders, envelopes, scotch tape, office furniture, computer accessories, lamps, books cases, printer cartridges etc. all cost much less than at just about any other store we surveyed.

Office supply stores have become much more aware that school supplies could be a big market and have now added stylish book bags and notebook covers along with the latest software.
