Description: This is about three times -- 6 to 8 inches -- wider than a normal switch, but with the same action as the incandescent type. Special ballasts are generally required, however, for fluorescents operated on dimmer circuits. Used only for dimming fluorescent lights.
Buying information: Since these units are so large, manufacturers often sell the extra-large box and cover as a package.
