== Hammer (claw hammer)

Get a heavier one that is well balanced; novices buy light small hammers which are harder to use because they require more force.

== Screwdrivers ( 3 regular, 3 phillips)

Make sure you have both very large and small standard screw drivers - there are times when you will need these; get ones with handles that grip properly and that are made of high grade steel.

Harry points out that a phillips screwdriver should be the best quality as the heads of phillips screws can strip easily, and this is often caused by a poor quality screw driver.

Harry recommends that you buy an inexpensive set of tiny screw drivers (at Radio Shack and other places) for small screws in computers, watches, and electric devices. He feels a cheap set will do just fine.

== Channel locking pliers (Harry recommends the Channel Lock(r) brand.)

These pliers that can be locked into a set width and are much more useful than standard pliers.

== Multipurpose snips

These can be used for cutting metal, linoleum, plastic or rubber tubing.
