Basic set-up - $250.

• Design and creation of an easy to read and fast home page.
  
• Picture scanning - 3 max (scanned as-is, picture tweaking is extra).
  
• Optimization of all graphics so that they load quickly.
  
• Add other items such as a copyright notation.
  
• Create a clickable email address.
  
• Uploading of pages to your new web site.
  
• Creation of a back-up files via email or on disk or CD.
  

NOTE:
--Included in my basic price is 1-2 revisions of the home page; a half-hour telephone call at my expense; swift email communication.
--I design all pages by hand with very little assistance from automated software. I find that these pages load much faster and can be read better by search engines, but naturally this takes a little more time. I do not use frames, or usual file formats.
--All pages are browser and search engine friendly. I double check all pages and links in MSIE and Netscape Internet browsers.

If you order the basic package, get these extra services
at my special low price.
(For this price these be ordered at the same time as basic home page.)
1. Creation of a custom background "tiled" image for your home page -- $75.
2. Add meta tags so that search engines know how to catalogue your page (price includes #3) -- $75.
   
3. Submit your home page to about 1000 search engines and directories (price includes #2) -- $75.
4. A second level page with up to 3 pictures - $100.
   

--Other work billed at $40 a hour.
--The cost of the web site itself is extra as is a unique domain name for your site if you want one.
--After the initial site is approved, maintenance/updating changes can be made for $40 per hour.

Additional services:

• Registration of your unique domain name.
  (I need several possible domain names. Put them in the order of preference; I need several in case the first one(s) are already taken. I will get your final approval before actually registering the name.)
• Digital photography: I can photograph whatever you need for a web page or I can scan it in.
  
• Picture tweaking: I can do my best to make your picture look as good as possible, but no guarantees.
  
• Animation: I can create animation as needed.
  
• Graphic design.
  
• Clickable thumbnail (very small) pictures that link to a larger display of your product or art work, along with a description, price, etc.
  
• Second level pages that explain more about your operation such as biographical material, description of your work, prizes you have won, etc.
  
• Large amounts of text can be broken into sections or chapters with a a table of contents page and navigation links from section to section. See an example.
• OCR (Optical Character Recognition): I can scan and digitize most hard copy text you might want to use.
• A translation module that will translate your page into: French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese.

In order to do the above,
I will need some of the following from you:

Text that you want on the home page in txt format (e.g created with Notepad or other program). You will find Notepad under start/programs/accessories - be sure to turn on word wrap and save it with a .txt extension.

Indicate main headlines for the home page.


Pictures you want on that page (basic price includes 5 photos in digital form or 3 hard copy photos that I will scan in). Please use only the best quality pictures (picture tweaking may be extra if they require a lot of reworking).

Contact information that you want on the page (e.g. do you want your mailing addresses, phone number or just an email address?).


For the second level page you may want to include a detailed bio and/or the links mentioned earlier.


Please indicate what goes on the main page and what goes on the second page, including pictures, headlines and general organization.


Any web links that you want included on second level page. List up to 20 links with descriptions. (Not included in basic price.)
(NOTE: Search engines list sites higher that have more links. If you like, I can scout sites that you might want to link to. I will send you a page of links and you can decide which you want. This is an extra charge.)

Remember: all web pages evolve. The pages and site you design at first will become more elaborate in a year or so.

Special Services for Artists and Craftspeople:

• Protect your original designs.
  
• Embed encrypted copyrights in your images.
  
• Prevent people from downloading your images for their own use.
