Description: This is a metal cylinder with a series of O-rings and water ports at one end.

Buying information: Individual parts and kits are available for cartridge-style single-handle faucets, but a cheaper, easier, and better repair is to replace the entire cartridge.

How-to hint: Instructions for installing the new cartridge will be on the package. Cartridge models can vary. To find out which one is needed, check at the base of the spout. The model number is often embossed there.
