Buying information: Machine bolts are used mainly to fasten metal to metal, but they can also be used to fasten wood and metal together.
How-to hints: Machine bolts are used with washers and nuts. The nuts are slipped on the protruding end and tightened by holding a wrench on the head. Because of this technique, the bolt can be made quite tight. Machine bolts, like carriage bolts, also come with cut and rolled threads; the cut -thread type is better for the reason cited above.
