BRAD NAIL
Description:
A brad is a finishing nail that is shorter than 1 1/2 inches. It is available in lengths
of 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch, and is very thin (19 gauge).
Buying
information: It is very good for making picture frames.
How-to
hints: To work with these nails more easily, since they are so small, hold
them in place with needlenose pliers as you drive them, or use a brad driver (basically a
hollow metal tool that has a spring and a magnet in it). Brads (up to 1 1/4 inch) are
dropped into the tube and then can be pushed in place rather than hammered.
