THHN WIRE

Description: This is nylon-covered wire, and it comes in various sizes and colors, including purple, green, white, and black. It is oilproof and heatproof.

Buying information: Use this when wiring fluorescent fixtures. Different-colored wires are provided so you can make different connections. THHN is slippery and abrasion-resistant; so it can be pulled through a conduit, and it is oilproof. It is also used because the ambient temperature of a light fixture is 105 degrees, higher than NM or BX cable could readily withstand without deteriorating.
