DEAD-FRONT PLUG

Description: This is a heavy plastic cylinder consisting of two parts that are screwed together.

Buying information: This plug has come to replace the open-construction plug because it is safer; the wires are much less likely to come loose.

How-to hints: This contains screw terminals to wrap bare wires around or to accept stripped wires. If the latter, proper stripping depth is very important. Plugs come with instructions that explain this.
