CONNECTING LINK (ALSO CALLED MASH LINK), CHAIN ACCESSORIES
Description:
Picture a chain link laid flat and cut in half, and you have the essential shape of a
connecting link.
Buying
information: Connecting links are for permanently connecting lengths of
chain and other attachments, and do the same job as individual links.
How-to
hints: To form a connecting link, use a heavy hammer to pound the rivet on
one half of the link into the opening on the other. Links can also be welded shut, but
this is not essential for strength. The connecting link should be the same size as the
chain's links. If the chain has 5/16-inch links, that's the size the connecting link
should be.
