Buying information: Blacktop sealer is used to protect an asphalt driveway against weather and wear. Many types are available, including asphalt-based, latex-based, and coal-tar-based. Asphalt is difficult to apply, and latex comes off. The best material to use is coal-tar based.

How-to hints: Most people apply this material too thickly. Apply it thinly, using a special brush/squeegee tool designed for this purpose.
