25.0 NEWSPAPER KINDLING - DO-IT-YOURSELF - DIY TIPS
I
learned this trick when I was a child. With enough of this starter kindling you can even
get big logs to catch fire.
Take
two large flat pages of newspaper, roll them up with about a one inch hole in the middle,
then bend the rolled paper and make a simple knot (it looks like a large pretzel). Make
dozens. A pile of these set on fire with some wadded-up newspaper can be used in place of
kindling to start a fire in the fire place or to ignite charcoal in a grill. They will
burn for ten-fifteen minutes and create a very hot flame.
