15.0 HARDWARE STORE - TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT - DO-IT-YOURSELF - DIY TIPS
You
can save time and maybe money by taking small tools and equipment into your local hardware
store when you need a part.
Recently
I brought in my electric weed trimmer. I wanted to make sure I got the right replacement
"fishing line" for the model I had. I was glad I brought it in, because it turned out
there were several types of "fishing line" for weed trimmers and some would not have
worked with my model.
When
I asked the assistant how to replace the line, he just took the device apart and installed
it himself on the spot. So by bringing in my equipment I not only made sure I got the
right part, but got it installed for free as well.
About
a week later, I brought in a bow saw which needed a new blade. Again it turned out there
were several blades and again the assistant went ahead and replaced it for me.
I
can't guarantee that your hardware store will do this kind of work for you for free, but
bringing your equipment into the store means you will get the right part and they can at
least show you how to replace the part properly.
